January (Ice Fishing)
A Great Month For Near Shore Fishing Of Browns, Splake, Coho,
Whitefish, Trophy Walleyes, And Herring. Either In The Apostle Islands
Or Chequamegon Bay. Also, This Is The Start To Our Deep Water
Fishing Of Lake Trout In The Apostle Islands.

February (Ice Fishing)
Most Time Is Spent Fishing The Deep Water Of The Apostle Islands For
Lake Trout. Chequamegon Bay Has Slowed Down Fishing Wise Along
With The Near Shore Species.

March (Ice Fishing)
We Are Still Fishing Deep For Lake Trout, But The Near Shore And
Chequamegon Bay Fishing Has Resurrected. Also, This Is An Exciting
Time To Fish Steelhead (Rainbow Trout) In Shallow Water Near River
Mouths. Lake Trout Fishing Is Usually Done By The Second Or Third
Week Of March And We Concentrate On Shallower Species.

April (In-Between)
Ice Out Is Usually Mid-April, But We Can Still Be Fishing On The Ice
Near Ashland On Chequamegon Bay. As The Ice Leave, In The Apostle
Islands First, We Start Working The Shorelines For Exciting Brown

Trout
, Splake, Coho, King Salmon, And Steelhead Action. This Is Also A
Great Time For Trophy Lake Trout In The Apostle Islands. Also, We
Fish Pre-Spawn Walleyes Along With A Shot At Post Spawn Pike In
Chequamegon Bay. A Great Month For Action For Trout And A Shot At A
Trophy Walleye.

May (Open Water)
SmallMouth Bass Season Opens Again And The End Of May Is A Great
Month For Huge Numbers Of Our Famed Bass
, Either Pre-Spawn Or
Spawn
. Walleye Fishing Is Still Great Along With Near Shore Trout And
Salmon. The St. Louis River Walleye Season Opens With A Chance At
Good Numbers Of Fish Along With Trophy Potential. The End Of The
Month Musky Season Opens And We Offer Trips For
Exciting Crappie
And Bluegill Action
.

June (Open Water)
SmallMouth Fishing Is Still Very Good For Pre, Post, and Spawn
Smallies. We Can See Upwards Of 30 Or More Fish A Day. Walleye
Fishing Is Still Great, Including Chequamegon Bay, St. Louis River, And
The South Shore. Lake Trout Fishing Picks Up With Good Numbers Of
Fish. Musky Fishing Also Is Getting Better Along With
Great PanFish
Potential.

July(Open Water)
Open Water Trolling Tactics Are The Name Of The Game For Most
Species Now. Lake Trout And Walleyes. From The Apostle Islands To
Chequamegon Bay To The South Shore. Action Can Be Great And The
Fish Are Usually Feeding Heavily. Bass Fishing Moves Off Shore But
Continues To Be Good. Musky Are Now Feeding Heavily With Warmer
Water Temperatures.

August (Open Water)
The Dog Days Of Summer Have Arrived. Lake Trout Fishing Is Still
Going Strong Along With Good Numbers Of Walleye And Bass. The End
Of August Shows The Early Stages Of Any Signs Of King Salmon
Coming To The Rivers To Spawn. Bass Are Still Off Shore And Are
Feeding Heavily.

September (Open Water)
The Water Is Beginning To Cool On All Waters Of The Area. We See A
Surge of Lake Trout Starting To Move To Spawning Areas, As The
Season Closes At The End Of The Month. Smallies Are Starting To Feed
Heavily As The Month Winds Down. Great
Pre-Turnover Topwater Action
Musky.
King Salmon Are Staging As Well.

October (Open Water)
Most Hunters Are In The Woods And The Lakes Seem Empty. But, This
Month Can Be One Of The Hottest Fishing Months For Near Shore
Trolling Action For Browns, Splake, Coho, and Steelhead In The Islands
And Near River Mouths Areas. Lake Trout Season Is Now Closed But
The Smallies Are Really Putting On The Feed Bag. Musky Fishing Is
Good, With Sucker Fishing Starting With The Cooling Temps. Excellent
Time Of Year To See The Fall Colors And Enjoy A Great Day on The
Water.

November (Transition To Open Water To Ice)
Near Shore Trolling Is Still Great For All Hearty Souls. Some Of The
Best Action For Trout And Salmon Again With Colder Water Temps. The
End Of November We Are Usually Seeing Inland Waters Starting To
Skim Over And Our Ice Season Can Begin For PanFish and Walleyes On
These Waters. Great Action For Those Species.

December (Ice)
Chequamegon Bay, On Average, Is Iced Over The First Week Or Two Of
This Month. Action Can Be Fast And Furious For Trout/Salmon,
Walleyes, And SmallMouth. Some Are Still Fishing Out Of Boats, But
Ours Is Put Away To Accommodate The Ice Fisher. Inland Water Trips
Are Being Done For Walleyes, Pike, And PanFish.
